life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.
-anais nin

If we had to guess, there's a good chance you've wandered to this page with a pretty, little cocktail of curiosity and do-I-dares shaking in your belly. Maybe you're saying to yourself that you don't have the credentials or audacity or right clothes or time or sense of authority to teach. Shhhhh, friend. Shhhh. You came to this page for a reason. Let's work together to figure out the big WHY without any judgment. Maybe the reason is you need a new stream of income. Fantastic! We have ideas. Maybe the reason is you have that spirit-rattling and you're all but biting your lip to hold the message in. Groovy. We love when that happens.

Our programming philosophy here is pretty simple: The village knows how to heal its people. Credentials are great and we'll pat your back for em' but what we're really looking for here at Meraki & Moon is dirt under your fingernails. We are a gritty-graceful and rebellious  studio more likely to be dressed in work clothes than blazers. We want your real because authenticity is contagious.

We welcome hand-me-down wisdom. That magic generation-to-generation learning. Come teach how to make a pan of biscuits (yes, we call that an art.) Come teach how to mend a shirt, whittle, swing a hammer or start a garden. We value your wisdom. We are an art studio in the sense that life is an art and we're curious to sample it all.

We welcome healers. We crave our power back. We crave nourishment for our bodies. We're ready to release the blocks that keep us from living vibrant, creative lives. WE DON'T WANT TO FEEL GREY DEEP DOWN IN OUR SOULS ANYMORE.

We crave art without all the airs. We want to keep company with the ones who have the audacity, not just a certificate, to create.

We want less people walking around out there saying "life gets in the way" and more people asking why the ground is rumbling in Georgetown (the answer being a sly smile and knowing that its so many feet hitting the ground with purpose in the morning.) We long to create memories around a big farm table with friends, new and old. We want authenticity in ourselves, our works and our homes.

WILL YOUR CLASS MATTER?

That little project you teach might be the rip in the veil someone has prayed for, so yes, it matters. The afternoon workshop could stitch up wounds that are so deep, they go back generations. You could put a paint brush in the hand of the next Howard Finster or teach songwriting to the person walking around with the tune we all need to hear trapped in their head. You could give purpose to your own painful journey. Or heck, you could make someone smile and relieve their shoulder-burden for a bit. IT ALL MATTERS. You matter and your story matters. Share it with us.
